NCBA Now, a multi-channel mobile app, has been unveiled by NCBA Group in Tanzania in a bid to boost the penetration of digital banking, financial inclusion and customer experience.

The app offers account monitoring and card management, customizable alerts and service requests, fund transfer options, bill payments, and real-time mobile wallet transactions.

Speaking at the unveiling of the revamped NCBA Now App in Tanzania, NCBA Group MD John Gachora said the app offers a seamless banking experience on both mobile and web

“The new NCBA Now App we are unveiling today is a testament to our continued pursuit of innovation and good customer experience,” said Gachora.

He added: “As a digitally led financial institution, we want to play a big role in enhancing financial inclusion across our markets in the East African region through innovative financial solutions that cater to the market needs and also produce products that address the challenges our customers are facing.”

NCBA plans to rollout the updated NCBA Now in Uganda, Rwanda, and Ivory Coast to boost digital banking penetration in its other regional markets within and without East Africa.


NCBA Tanzania took advantage of the launch to release its 2023 full year financial results ending December 31, 2023, posting a 157 per cent surge in post-tax profit to TSh20 billion.

The Tanzanian lender also recorded a 91.5 per cent growth in customer deposits to TSh262.6 million, even as its total assets also grew by 14.5 per cent to Tsh 515.5 million.

Via its M-Pawa digital lending, NCBA Bank Tanzania disbursed loans worth Tsh100 billion and raked in revenues worth Tsh25 billion as its digital ventures yielded notable returns.

The bank anticipates the launch of NCBA Now will further boost NCBA's financial results in 2024 as it plans to unveil more creative digital solutions to meet dynamic customer needs.
