Traffic flow along the Nakuru–Kampi ya Moto Road has been disrupted following the emergence of a sinkhole near Kiamunyi, approximately 1.5 kilometres from the KFA Roundabout, close to Riva Petrol Station.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) issued a public notice on 30th April 2025, informing motorists of the disruption and confirming that emergency maintenance works are underway.

“This disruption is caused by the emergence of a sinkhole in that area, and maintenance works are currently underway to address the issue,” the statement read.

Motorists travelling to and from Nakuru, Eldoret, and Baringo have been advised to use a diversion route as directed by police and traffic marshals at the site.

“Motorists traveling to and from Nakuru, Eldoret, and Baringo are advised to use the diversion road as directed by police and traffic marshals on-site,” the advisory stated.

KeNHA further urged road users to approach the affected area with care.

“For safety, motorists should approach the affected section with caution, adhere to the traffic signs displayed, and follow the guidance provided by the traffic marshals and police at the scene.”

KeNHA assured the public that safety measures have been put in place and efforts are ongoing to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.

The authority further advised motorists to stay alert, follow instructions on-site, and check KeNHA’s official channels for the latest updates.
