Dennis Gakuo and Naomi Kimata emerged the Overall Gross Winners in the men's and ladies' categories respectively during the eight leg of the NCBA Golf Series on Saturday.
Gakuo and Kimata swung their way into victory beating an impressive field of 270 golfers who turned up at the par-72 Thika Sports Club course to gith for the top golfing honours.
Gakuo, who played off handicap 3, carded a stirring 77 gross to win in the men's category, while Kimata, playing off handicap 14, posted 85 gross to emerge the overall lady winner.
In Division 1, for handicap 12 and below, Edward Nyamu, who was playing off handicap 8, swung his way to the top with 37 points.
In Division 2, Simon Kibe (playing off handicap 20) bagged the men's title with 40 points, as Veronica Wanjiku (playing off handicap 22) won the Ladies' category with 41 points.

Rose Nduta (who was playing off handicap 42) was the victor in Division III (handicap 25 and above).
Rising junior golfing star Jamie Gakobo (playing off handicap 15) took home the Junior Winner trophy with an impressed show at the Thika Sports by carding 39 points.
Job Karimi (playing off handicap 26) carded 39 points to be declared the Guest Winner, while Daniel Chege posted 24 points to be declared the staff winner of the NCBA Golf Series.
Speaking at the conclusion of the eight leg of the prestigious golfing event, NCBA Bank Thika Branch Manager Nicholas Njenga lauded Thika Sports Club for hosting the successful leg.
“Seeing 270 golfers participate is not only a testament to the growth of the game, but also to the strength of this golfing community,” said Njenga.
He added: “At NCBA, we are committed to empowering growth - not just in golf, but across sectors.”
On his part, Thika Sports Club Captain Moses Gatonye praised NCBA for its commitment to improving the golf sport and enabling golfers across the country to improve their game.
“This event gave our members and guests a chance to engage, compete, and enjoy the sport we love in a well-organized and enjoyable setting,” stated Gatonye.
He added: “We look forward to many more such engagements.”
NCBA Golf Series now moves to the ninth leg slated for Machakos Golf Club on May 9, 2025.
