Greg Snow delivered a masterclass in consistency and composure to clinch the Limuru leg of the PGK Equator Tour, finishing an impressive 12 under par (276) after four fiercely competitive rounds.

The tour’s second leg drew 48 top Kenyan pros to the lush fairways of Limuru Country Club, turning the usually tranquil course into a battleground of grit, precision and rising talent.

Over the course of four days, the leaderboard shifted with every round, setting up a thrilling finale.

Snow, a seasoned name in local golf, stormed to victory with his highlight being a brilliant second-round 65.

Despite pressure from the chasing pack, he held his nerve in the final round to walk away as champion.

Njoroge Kibugu finished a close second with a solid 69 on the final day to total 278 (-10), while Safaricom-sponsored Mohit Mediratta claimed third with 280 (-8), fending off strong finishes from Gaita Rodell and John Karichu, who tied for fourth at 281 (-7).

“This event showed why the PGK Equator Tour is a game-changer,” said PGK Chairman CJ Wangai.

He added: “We witnessed tight competition, better scores and a higher level of professionalism across the board. It’s proof that the sport is growing — and we thank our sponsors for fuelling that momentum.”

The action kicked off with fireworks on Day One at Limuru Country Club, where Mediratta posted a sizzling 67 to take the early lead.

Hot on his heels were Karichu, Snow, and Abuto, who all carded 68 each, setting the tone for what would become a weekend of action-packed drama.

By Day Two, the spotlight turned to Snow, who lit up the course with the lowest score of the tournament, a 65, to snatch the lead at -9.

NCBA’s Edwin Mudanyi also put up a strong 68 to stay in contention, while Mediratta stumbled with a 74, dropping a few spots on the leaderboard.

Day Three was a rollercoaster with Snow’s steady 71 keeping him tied at the top, but he was suddenly surrounded by a hungry pack thirsty to overtake him.

Mediratta, Mutahi Kibugu (with a blistering 65), and Njoroge Kibugu (67) all ended the day at -9, creating a four-way tie for second going into Sunday’s showdown.

However, Snow kept his cool when it mattered most.

The Safaricom-sponsored players left their mark, with three golfers finishing in the top 10.

Mediratta took third, Mutahi Kibugu and Samuel Chege both tied for seventh at 284 (-4), exhibiting the depth of the team.

Their combined effort won Safaricom the top position in the PGK Corporate Challenge, which ranks sponsors based on their players’ performances.

Th strong show by its corporate team is a robust endorsement of Safaricom’s Sh3 million investment and commitment to supporting the tour and professional golf in Kenya.

The Limuru leg is part of PGK’s broader Player Development Plan, a strategic blueprint to develop homegrown talent through coaching, competition and structured exposure.

Backed by sponsors including NCBA, Britam, VISA, Kenya Airways, Johnnie Walker, and Computech, the tour is both a circuit and a launchpad for Kenya’s future golf champions.

Next up on the calendar is Kipipiri in August as the PGK Equator Tour rolls on with even greater momentum.
