Absa Bank Kenya has rolled out a three-month competition promising Sh1 million monthly to lucky winners, alongside weekly cash rewards of Sh100,000, as it pushes customers towards greater use of debit and credit cards.
The campaign, branded "Play Your Cards Right", will run for existing and new cardholders, rewarding those who opt for cashless transactions in everyday spending.
By swiping, tapping, or shopping online, customers automatically qualify for the draws that will see three winners pocket Sh100,000 each week and one customer take home Sh1 million at the end of every month.
During the launch, Absa’s Head of Cards Payments, Linda Kimani, explained that the programme is part of a larger digital strategy aimed at customer convenience and loyalty.
“The Play Your Cards Right campaign is designed as a customer rewards initiative encouraging Absa Debit and Credit card holders to embrace card usage while making daily transactions meaningful, fun and rewarding," she remarked.

She further underlined Absa’s commitment to improving the payments ecosystem through secure and innovative solutions.

"We would like to reinforce our belief that banking should not be complicated, but should be convenient, versatile, reliable, fun and secure, which are what cards offer."
The bank said the campaign forms part of its sustainability agenda that promotes financial inclusion by encouraging customers to transact efficiently, securely and with greater trust.
By linking digital innovation with tangible rewards, Absa is seeking to increase the shift towards a cashless economy while positioning itself as a customer-focused institution in Kenya’s competitive banking sector.
