Bolt has disclosed that its 50 highest-earning drivers in Kenya pocketed an average of Sh1,280,000 between January and June 2025, amounting to roughly Sh213,000 per month.

The company said the figures place its platform above many office jobs and most other gig-based opportunities in the country.

According to Bolt, the totals combined gross trip payments with bonuses and rewards given to drivers who consistently completed high volumes of rides, accepted trip requests, and maintained strong passenger ratings.

The company noted that this performance also reflects the steady growth of demand for ride-hailing in Kenyan towns and cities.

One of Bolt’s top drivers in Kenya, Allan, explained how working with the company has changed his ability to provide for his family while enjoying flexibility in his work.

“Driving with Bolt has been life-changing for me. I’ve been able to comfortably provide for my family, from paying school fees to covering daily needs. The flexibility to work on my own schedule while achieving real financial independence is something I truly value,” Allan said.

The company added that it continues to introduce programmes aimed at improving driver welfare, including recognition schemes for top performers, wellness initiatives, enhanced safety tools, and flexible work hours.

Bolt said these measures not only support drivers but also raise the quality of service experienced by riders.

The company’s Kenyan leadership stressed that the latest earnings show what is possible for those who fully commit to the platform.

Bolt Kenya’s General Manager, Dimmy Kanyankole, stressed that the report underlines the potential for strong financial returns among drivers who actively engage with the platform.

“At Bolt, our primary focus is on creating meaningful economic opportunities for our driver partners," Kanyankole stated.

"The latest earnings report shows that drivers who consistently engage on our platform can achieve strong financial returns."

He further expressed the company's commitment to improving the driver experience and building a sustainable future for everyone in the gig economy.

With thousands of drivers using its platform nationwide, Bolt has positioned itself as both a source of livelihood and a mobility solution, providing flexible income opportunities while helping meet Kenya’s growing transport needs.
