Bolt has awarded fuel vouchers, family trips and other rewards to outstanding drivers in Kenya during the third edition of its annual “Drive for a Prize” campaign, underscoring its commitment to recognising and supporting those at the heart of its mobility platform.

The event brought together driver partners, corporate sponsors and Bolt representatives in a celebration of service excellence and community building.

Travelling opportunities courtesy of ViuTravel and fuel vouchers from Total Kenya were among the top prizes issued, with several drivers receiving recognition for their consistency and dedication.

During the event, Dimmy Kanyankole, General Manager Rides, Kenya, reflected on the role drivers play in sustaining Bolt’s operations.

He explained that drivers are more than service providers; they represent the backbone of the business and ensure that everyday transport runs smoothly for thousands of Kenyans.

"Drivers on our platform are more than just partners; they are at the core of our business and the communities we serve. Their resilience, dedication, and service excellence make mobility seamless for thousands of Kenyans every day," Kanyankole stated.

"With ‘Drive for a Prize,’ we are not only celebrating their success but also affirming our ongoing commitment to support, empower, and reward the people who make Bolt possible."

Winners also shared their own reflections on what the recognition meant for them.

One of the top awardees, Evans Mutwol, who was presented with a family trip and car accessories, described how the acknowledgement validated his efforts and gave him new motivation.

“I never imagined that my hard work would be celebrated this way," Mutwol remarked.

"Driving with Bolt has given me the flexibility to provide for my family, and today’s recognition shows that Bolt truly values its drivers."

Mutwol said that winning the prize has motivated him to keep offering the best services to riders every day.

Another driver, Serah Njoki Esther, emphasised that the reward was about more than material gifts. She noted that the award carried deeper meaning because it showed that consistent effort is recognised and appreciated.

“This award means so much to me because it shows that consistency and commitment don’t go unnoticed. It’s not just about the prize, but the respect and appreciation we feel as drivers," Njoki said.

"Thank you to Bolt and the partners for standing with us.”

The “Drive for a Prize” initiative is part of Bolt’s broader strategy to promote driver welfare and engagement.

Over recent years, the company has introduced programmes ranging from financial literacy and health support to community-building and entrepreneurship, while continuing to emphasise driver safety and wellbeing.

By rewarding dedication and recognising achievements, Bolt seeks to strengthen ties with its driver community and sustain a culture of appreciation within its platform.
