OPPO Kenya has rolled out the Reno14 Series nationwide, introducing the smartphones at a starting price of Sh59,999 and embedding an enhanced version of Google’s Gemini AI across the system’s core applications.

The devices run on OPPO’s ColorOS 15, which has been optimised to work with Gemini for seamless AI interactions.

Users can activate Gemini by pressing and holding the side button, enabling them to schedule tasks, summarise content, and extract information across apps like Notes, Calendar, and Clock using natural language prompts.

Fredrique Achieng, Public Relations Manager at OPPO Kenya, said the collaboration with Google was designed to make AI capabilities more intuitive and accessible across everyday apps.

“With the Reno14 Series, we are collaborating closely with Google to systematically integrate Google Gemini into OPPO core apps. This integration will enable users to effortlessly perform complex actions across multiple apps using simple natural language queries, significantly enhancing AI convenience,” Achieng stated.

The company illustrated Gemini's integration with practical use cases for users managing daily routines.

“Users can ask Gemini to summarize key talking points from long documents or emails and seamlessly save them in to OPPO Notes for an organized access," OPPO stated.

"Leveraging on Gemini’s powerful capabilities, users can capture essential steps from their recipe tutorials on platforms such as YouTube and saving them on their notes app, ensuring they do not miss a single detail."

OPPO further said, "Additionally, managing of schedules and daily routines just got simpler from making travel bookings, important work meetings, users can simply ask Gemini to ‘add this meeting/task to my calendar,” the company stated.

The Reno14 Series is available in Opal Blue and Luminous Green, and is now selling through OPPO retail outlets, major e-commerce platforms, and the official OPPO Kenya website.

Each purchase comes bundled with a neckband headphone, a one-year screen protection plan, and a one-year liquid damage cover.

Customers can also opt into the Lipa Pole Pole instalment plan offered through Onfon, which allows the device to be acquired with only a 20 per cent deposit.

The launch is part of OPPO’s global AI strategy unveiled during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, where the company announced its goal to deliver generative AI features to 100 million users worldwide by the end of 2025.

In reinforcing that vision, OPPO highlighted the broader objective behind its AI investments.

“OPPO remains dedicated to leading innovation in AI-powered user experiences, empowering lives through groundbreaking technology and strategic partnerships like that with Google,” the company noted.

With the Reno14 Series now on Kenyan shelves, OPPO is positioning its latest release as a smart, AI-empowered companion for users navigating work, content, and communication.
