NCBA has unveiled the third edition of its Go-Getter Internship Programme, a 12-month initiative that will provide 50 young graduates with invaluable skills, mentorship, and exposure to the corporate world.

The programme is designed to help participants thrive within the dynamic banking sector while offering the chance for top performers to be included in the bank’s future talent pool.

John Gachora, the Group Managing Director of NCBA, explained the significance of this programme, stating that the initiative reflects the bank’s belief in the potential of young people.

He emphasised the importance of providing hands-on experience and mentorship to foster a workforce capable of leading and innovating for the future.

“The Go-Getter Internship Programme reflects our belief that the future of our economy lies in the potential of our youth. By providing hands-on experience and strategic mentorship, we are building a workforce that is ready to lead and innovate the next generation,” Gachora stated.

The Go-Getter Internship Programme is part of NCBA’s broader commitment to sustainable talent development under its "Change the Story" sustainability platform.

This initiative offers interns an introduction to the bank's operations, coaching from industry experts, and training opportunities aimed at career growth.

Candidates for the programme must meet specific criteria, including graduating within the past 12 months, achieving a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division in their undergraduate studies, and obtaining at least a B minus in Mathematics and English in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

Monicah Kihia, Group Director of HR and Culture at NCBA, spoke about the bank’s commitment to developing young professionals.

She explained that the programme is designed to foster a culture of high performance, offering young talent real-world experience and the opportunity to grow within the company.

"At NCBA, we believe in investing in the next generation of professionals by providing them with a platform to learn, grow, and make meaningful contributions to the industry," Kihia remarked.

"Through the Go-Getter Internship Programme, we foster a high-performance employee culture that imparts young talent with real-world experience, mentorship, and career development opportunities."

As the programme enters its third year, NCBA reaffirms its dedication to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for its employees, empowering them to reach their full potential and shaping the future leaders of the industry.
